Recent Deliveries Literature (pdf) (click above) (click above)Like our line of Rescue Vehicles, Marion Commercial and Custom Tankers feature all aluminum body construction for a lighter body weight, extra payload, and no rust. Building an all aluminum body lowers the truck's center of gravity for improved manuverability, making the truck safer. Our line of Tankers also features flush, snag-free doors, high temperature wiring, reversible lip or no-lip shelves, catwalk overlays, a removeable rear step, and many other features that set Marion apart.
Features
Multiplex Wiring is Standard. Marion utilizes the Class One ES-Key MultiPlexing in every Rescue and Fire Apparatus. Essentially, a digital network created to run the vehicle electrical system, it is the future of apparatus wiring, available at Marion now. Anti-lock brakes, used in trucks and automobiles for years, are examples of multiplexing. Less wiring and electrical components are needed, increasing the reliability of the system. Flexibility is improved because the systems software can reconfigure electrical dependencies without touching a wire. Troubleshooting is quick and easy with the systems diagnostic capabilities. An optional modem feature allows a Marion engineer to analyze, troubleshoot, and reconfigure the vehicles electronics without it leaving your fire station!
Double Flex Joint Design for Reduced Body Stress. By building a pump module that is separate from the body, Marion provides two places where the apparatus can flex: between the cab and the pump module, and between the pump module and the body. This design relieves much of the normal body stress on the truck, and reduces any related damage. This separated design also makes accident repair easier and less expensive.
Door Mounted Compartment Lighting. Rather than being located inside the compartment, where the lighting provides less illumination and has a greater risk of breakage, Marion's compartment lighting is located on the door as standard. This placement provides several key benefits. First, the light illuminates all the shelves and the ground outside; equipment won't block the lighting when it's on the door. Second, this location protects against breakage.
Corrosion Avoiding Construction. In building our Tankers, like
our Rescue Vehicles, extra care is taken during construction to completely seal and weld the body in every area, including those that are out of sight like the wheelwells. Fully welding the body increases its structural integrity and eliminates open pockets where road salt, dirt and moisture can gather to cause corrosion problems. The highly exposed substructure of a pumper is another place where attention must be paid to prevent corrosion and other undercarriage damage; the substructure of our pumpers is composed of all aluminum enclosed tubing extrusions.
